Dr Stavrakis is a Senior Specialist Anaesthetist.
He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney (1995), and completed his anaesthetic training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (2000-2003) and fellowship training at the Royal Hospital for Women (2004).
He gained his specialist qualifications in 2005.

Dr Stavrakis anaesthetises over 100 patients for major pancreatic and liver surgeries every year, and has completed more than 1000 over the course of his career.
He performs obstetric anaesthesia weekly, and is actively involved in education. He delivers a monthly information session, for expectant mothers, based at the Royal Hospital for Women, that has been running since 2004.
He regularly lectures to medical students at the University of New South Wales.
Dr Stavrakis works with General Surgeons, Obstetricians, Gastroenterologists, and Ophthalmologists with the objective of optimising patient experiences and outcomes.
